🌒 Experience the Solar Eclipse Together!

Join us on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, for a spectacular evening as we watch the solar eclipse from the top of Hasle Bakker. Bring friends, family, and your curiosity for an evening of astronomy and one of the most impressive sky events!

During the eclipse, the Moon will cover up to 85% of the Sun, creating an unforgettable celestial event. Since the eclipse takes place just before sunset, we'll head to the top of the hill for a clear, unobstructed view of the western horizon.

Hasle Bakker is one of Aarhus' highest points, offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape. It’s an ideal location for watching the low evening Sun as the eclipse unfolds.

🔭 What to expect:

➡️ View the eclipse safely through our telescope equipped with a certified solar filter. Fun fact: The cover picture above here on the event page was taken through our telescope in 2021’s solar eclipse 🙌🏽

➡️ View the eclipse using solar eclipse glasses (we’ll bring them for you!)

➡️ Learn about the eclipse while enjoying the evening with fellow sky enthusiasts

🕕 Schedule:

➡️ Meet: 6:00 PM at the Hasle Bakker parking lot

➡️ We'll walk up the hill together and have time to get settled before the eclipse begins.

➡️ Eclipse begins: Around 7:00 PM

➡️ Maximum eclipse: Around 8:00 PM, when the Sun will be just 7° above the horizon

📍 Location: Hasle Bakker (meet at the parking lot)

Important: Never look directly at the Sun without proper eye protection. Safe viewing equipment will be provided.
